The subscription and the viewing route are separate details
CANAL+ spans television subscriptions and app viewing, with country-specific offers. A decoder receiving a live channel, a streaming app opening a programme and a transactional film purchase are different routes. The shared name does not make their technical requirements identical.
When asking whether CANAL+ needs internet access, first identify which route you mean. French support distinguishes a dish-connected satellite decoder from online streaming and a previously prepared download. A generic yes-or-no answer would conceal that difference.
Offline viewing must be prepared on a supported surface
A downloaded programme can be a route for viewing when the intended device is offline. That does not mean that every television or decoder stores a download, or that every programme is eligible. Use the actual device and programme controls.
Before a journey, confirm that the item has been downloaded rather than merely saved to a list. Keep the account, chosen version and remaining availability with it. A working satellite channel at home is not a test of that offline app workflow.
CANAL VOD is a distinct transaction
Rentals and purchases made through CANAL VOD have their own conditions. An app can display those options beside subscription material, but the presence of a CANAL+ television subscription does not automatically pay for every VOD film.
Inspect the selected title’s offer and the account used for an order. A rental request, a purchase library and an included replay should be described separately when comparing value or investigating an unexpected payment screen.
Use the account’s actual country and product
CANAL+ offers differ by market. A French support instruction should not silently become a feature promise for every national CANAL+ product. Keep the country, subscription name, equipment and viewing mode together.
If a problem affects one channel or film, identify it precisely. If an entire app fails, retain the device and error. This avoids applying a decoder reception remedy to an app login issue or treating a VOD access label as evidence that a subscription has stopped working.
Questions answered
