Find the particular film or series edition

Dekkoo is a subscription service focused on gay films and series, including international discoveries, festival selections and originals. Its present site organises viewing through collections such as trending films, festival favourites, staff picks and short films. Those are discovery routes; the exact title page is the useful place to verify the film or episode you want.

Match the title, year and programme type when an international film has a translated name or a series has related shorts. A distributor relationship or a familiar cover does not establish that every edition or season is included. Check the actual programme before joining solely for one work.

Use the official app and the existing account

The official Apple application is published by Gaius Media LLC and covers iPhone, iPad and Apple TV. Its description tells existing subscribers to sign in rather than resubscribe. Identify that publisher and the official Dekkoo route instead of confusing a similarly named entertainment player with the subscription catalogue.

The service’s site also lists Roku, Fire TV, Android and selected smart-TV routes. Check the current store requirements for the actual screen. Installing another app does not create another entitlement automatically, and a shared brand appearing within a television host does not establish that all purchase routes use the same credentials.

Prepare mobile downloads and casting separately

The official Apple description includes offline syncing as well as Chromecast and AirPlay viewing. To prepare for a disconnected session, complete the required video in the mobile app and inspect the local item. Resume progress or a saved programme is a navigation state rather than proof of a finished download.

The same listing notes local-network permission when a Chromecast device cannot be found. Check that permission and the intended casting route before treating a missing receiver as a subscription failure. A completed mobile download and a supported cast are different capabilities, so verify the exact session you intend to use rather than assuming one guarantees the other.

Manage renewal through the original purchase platform

Dekkoo’s current FAQ directs direct subscribers to account settings and platform subscribers to Apple, Google Play, Roku or Amazon as appropriate. It says access continues through the paid billing period after cancellation. Find the original receipt and renewal date before changing the plan or creating a replacement membership.

The current support form separately lists sign-in, locked-content, device, subtitle and download problems. Choose the issue that matches what failed and include the title, account route and device. That makes an unrecognised purchase distinguishable from one film’s subtitle presentation or a local sync problem without paying twice to test the account.

Questions answered

Should an existing direct Dekkoo subscriber automatically subscribe again in the Apple app?

No. The official app tells existing subscribers to sign in to their account.

Can a missing Chromecast receiver be a local-network permission issue?

Yes. Dekkoo’s official Apple listing specifically points to local-network permission when the receiver is not visible.
