An old app tutorial may lead to a retired surface
Freeform’s dated announcement ended its native mobile and connected-TV apps on 23 September 2024. It directed viewers to Freeform.com, qualifying TV-provider routes and Hulu. That notice explains why an old installation guide can be obsolete without meaning the Freeform identity disappeared.
Begin with the series and episode you actually need. Keep the programme name when moving from an old app bookmark to the official website. A trailer, network stream and complete episode are different results, so inspect the format before treating a familiar thumbnail as the intended programme.
Use the lock to choose the correct next step
The announcement describes selecting a lock-marked episode, choosing a participating provider from the displayed list and completing that provider’s sign-in. It also describes some episodes available without a provider. The access marker on the selected item is more useful than assuming all results share one requirement.
If you already have a television package, identify its actual seller before accepting another purchase elsewhere. A Disney-related logo does not establish that Disney+, a Hulu offer and provider authentication are interchangeable. Keep the product and purchasing account attached to the route being used.
Check the replacement task directly
After reaching the website, test the exact episode and the controls you rely on. Record whether the item is absent, locked, recognised but unable to start, or already playing with a control problem. Those observations lead to different next steps.
The 2024 announcement is a service-transition source, not a permanent promise that every programme named there remains available. Use the current title page for its season, episode and access option. If the intention is live viewing, choose the website’s Live TV route and check that stream rather than a saved on-demand episode.
