The launch joined two predecessor identities
JioStar’s announcement identifies 14 February 2025 as the launch of JioHotstar in India, bringing together JioCinema and Disney+ Hotstar. An older programme reference using either predecessor name belongs in that history rather than automatically identifying a separate current purchase.
Retain the date of an old article or receipt when comparing it with a current app. The launch history can explain a name change, but it does not make an old promotional price or programme claim a current account condition.
The country product and access route matter
The February 2025 announcement concerns the launch in India. JioStar subsequently announced JioHotstar in the UK, Canada and Singapore on 2 September 2026, including a transition for existing Hotstar subscribers in those markets. An India launch article therefore does not describe the complete current geographic scope.
On 6 October 2026, JioStar announced a separate MENA route through a dedicated destination in the STARZPLAY app and website. That hosted arrangement should not be confused with a promise that one account or national app works identically in every market.
When comparing an old receipt with a current sign-in screen, record the country product and billing provider as well as the service name. A viewer in Europe should use the relevant current official country offer for availability, payment and device questions. Shared brand history does not settle those details.
A merger statement is not a permanent title list
The launch announcement describes a combination of programming interests, including films, television, sport and creator-led material. Those launch descriptions are historical statements about the offer. They are not a promise that every named programme or future sports edition remains available indefinitely.
For an exact work or event, use the current title, season or edition and the appropriate account product. A sports-brand image in an old launch article cannot establish today’s live fixture, feed or commentary option.
Account transition and current playback require different evidence
The launch announcement discussed existing subscribers transitioning to the new service. A statement made at launch should not be turned into an invented recovery procedure for every private account more than a year later. Use the current official account route for that case.
If asking about an old JioCinema or Disney+ Hotstar reference, include the previous product name, date and the current official destination. For a video problem, identify the exact programme and device separately. Keep credentials and private payment information out of public screenshots.
