Kayo Sports: SplitView, the browser and the selected device

Watching several videos in one layout is a device-specific feature, not a universal account control.

Separate multiple tiles from multiple devices

Kayo describes SplitView as showing several live videos, games, channels or camera angles in one screen layout. That is a viewing feature inside a supported playback surface. It is not the same measurement as the membership’s simultaneous-device allowance, and the presence of several tiles should not be used to calculate how many other televisions can open the account.

Choose the competitions or camera feeds that matter to you, then inspect the layout options on the actual device. A working single stream establishes only that one playback route. It does not establish that the same equipment implements every multi-video arrangement advertised elsewhere.

Use the documented SplitView surface

Kayo’s feature page provides a device table and names several unsupported routes, including casting modes and a number of native television platforms. Its Fire TV help separately says SplitView is not available there, although other features such as Key Moments and Minis are described. The Fire TV brand should therefore not be treated as a promise of the same interface as a browser.

On a supported route, reveal the player’s SplitView control and select the additional video through the offered carousel. Layout choices depend on the surface. If the icon is absent, check current device support before changing account details or assuming that the content subscription is missing.

Distinguish browser resolution from screen resolution

Kayo’s browser help states that its 4K streaming is not currently offered on web browsers. A computer connected to a 4K display can still output an image to that panel, but that does not establish that the browser received a native 4K source. Treat the source route and the display’s capabilities as separate facts.

The same help identifies browser-specific features, including Related Videos for SplitView and Key Moments for selected action. A native television app or a cast session can have a different set of controls. Compare the same programme and the actual player surface rather than the device’s home-screen resolution badge.

Choose a full replay or a shorter editorial version

Kayo’s presentation distinguishes Minis from Key Moments. A Mini is a condensed highlights programme; Key Moments lets a viewer jump through tagged points in selected coverage. Neither should automatically be treated as the unedited full match. Read the selected item’s label before concluding that a replay has lost part of an event.

Multiple video tiles also increase the amount of media being retrieved. If a complex layout stalls while one stream plays, retain that precise comparison and the device information. It is more useful than changing every household network setting. The named features belong to Kayo’s service and do not establish IPTV Europe access to a competition.

Questions answered

Is SplitView supported on every Kayo device?

No. Kayo publishes device and route-specific availability, including unsupported native/casting surfaces.

Does a 4K screen make Kayo web playback 4K?

No. Kayo’s browser help distinguishes its current browser stream support from the display’s resolution.
