The internet provider is not the television contract
Telekom’s independent German MagentaTV app offer can use an internet connection from another provider. That separates the connection you already buy from the television tariff you are considering. The app is the viewing surface; it is not itself proof of an active TV contract.
When comparing offers, identify whether the product is the independent app route or a wider package. A feature described for a particular decoder or connectivity bundle should not automatically be assigned to every app-only subscription.
Flex and a longer commitment are different choices
The current offer distinguishes Flex from longer-term contracts. Read the exact tariff and commitment information attached to the account. A monthly figure on an offer card does not, by itself, establish flexible cancellation or the total commitment.
Keep any partner services named in the offer with that tariff. A promotional list describing one package is not a catalogue of benefits attached to every MagentaTV account. Compare the actual product rather than the general brand.
Partner activation can be a separate task
Telekom’s guidance notes that a bundled service can require its own registration or age check. A working MagentaTV account is therefore not necessarily the final activation step for every partner destination. Follow the specific partner route attached to the offer.
Use the same intended customer relationship when completing that step, and avoid creating a separate paid subscription merely because a partner app opens a sign-in page. Identify the product and activation instructions before paying again.
Questions answered
Does independent MagentaTV require Telekom broadband?
No. The provider explicitly offers it over other internet operators.
Can a partner service use a different stream allowance?
Yes. Telekom distinguishes partner allowances from MagentaTV’s own limits.
