Use the film’s current viewing route
MUBI’s name can appear on a film as producer or distributor as well as on the streaming service. A theatrical release poster carrying the brand is not proof that the film is already in the streaming catalogue for your country. Check the current film page and the offered viewing route.
This distinction is useful when a newly reviewed film cannot be found in the app. A cinema release, a festival presentation and a streaming availability window can be separate stages. Changing a television setting cannot make those release stages identical.
MUBI GO is a cinema-going product
The current MUBI GO help describes a selected film and participating cinema route alongside streaming access. The selected Film of the Week is shown in its own app with cinema and screening information. It is not simply a code that unlocks any film in any cinema.
Before travelling to a screening, inspect the actual venue, film, date and redemption information. MUBI says the generated QR code is not a reservation and availability at the cinema still matters. A screenshot of a film recommendation is not a guaranteed seat.
Notebook is editorial reading
Notebook is MUBI’s editorial publication, including a printed magazine. It can be purchased separately, and MUBI’s current Premiere membership also bundles a print subscription. Check the exact membership rather than assuming every streaming plan has the same magazine entitlement. Reading a criticism or interview is still different from acquiring streaming access to the film discussed.
A useful discovery sequence is to find the filmmaker or subject through editorial material, then inspect the film’s actual viewing page. This allows the writing to provide context without turning every work mentioned in an article into an assumed catalogue entitlement.
Compare the question with the right product
A streaming playback error belongs to the programme, app and account. A cinema redemption question needs the GO selection, venue and day. A magazine delivery or purchase question belongs to the publication arrangement. The shared brand should not erase those differences.
Keep the specific product named in any support enquiry. Avoid publishing a personal QR code, account details or a receipt. Explaining whether the problem concerns a stream, cinema attendance or editorial purchase is more useful than sending one broad message that the MUBI subscription does not work.
Questions answered
Is every MUBI release automatically a currently streamable title?
No. Production, theatrical distribution and streaming are different release routes.
