The current India name reflects an integration
Amazon’s current India announcement introduces MX Player by Prime Video on Android. Older references can say MX Player or Amazon MX Player. Read the developer and current official product identity when following an old app instruction.
The name history is useful, but it is not evidence that every app with similar wording has the same publisher or features. Verify the actual listing before entering an account or using a private media address. A familiar icon alone is not a complete software identity.
Local video is a different source
A local-file player opens media already available on the device. That is a different task from viewing an online film supplied through a streaming catalogue. Successful local playback does not establish that a service account or remote programme is available.
If a file opens from device storage but an online title fails, retain that distinction. The local codec path, the network request and the account entitlement are different parts of the experience. Do not treat one successful task as a full test of the other.
Describe the route that failed
For a local-file problem, keep the actual file type, source location and visible symptom. For an online programme, identify its title, the account context and the failure stage. An installation issue needs the exact device, operating system and publisher listing.
Keep the India product context when comparing current announcements. A historical MX-branded item in a catalogue elsewhere should not automatically inherit the same account or country offer. These distinctions prevent one app’s multiple jobs from becoming a misleading universal access claim.
