Decide whether you want now or the beginning
Ouest-France’s current NOVO19 app description distinguishes watching live, restarting a programme from its beginning and catching up on replay. Those three modes answer different needs even when they concern the same broadcast.
If you join halfway through a programme but want its opening, use the advertised restart capability where offered for that item. If you want a previous edition, look for the replay instead. Returning to the running live channel is not the same as selecting an earlier programme.
Keep the date with a recurring programme
NOVO19’s description centres its news offering on a local perspective and also describes interviews and behind-the-scenes formats. A short related video can therefore extend a programme without being the full dated edition.
When finding a recurring news programme, retain its date and whether the item is the complete edition or an interview/excerpt. This is especially useful when returning from a recommendation that names only the programme. The presence of an extra interview is not evidence that the full broadcast has been archived indefinitely.
Use an account for continuity
The developer says creating an account enables continuing where you stopped and personalised recommendations. This is a continuity feature, distinct from choosing live, restart or replay. Keep the intended account when changing screens midway through a programme.
The source reviewed here is the broadcaster’s developer listing, updated 3 November 2026. No app or playback was tested. A device family in that listing is not proof that every model exposes an identical restart control; inspect the actual offered action on the selected programme.
Questions answered
How does restart differ from replay?
Restart concerns returning to the beginning of the current programme; replay is a separately selected earlier programme in the developer’s description.
Why create a NOVO19 account?
The broadcaster describes account-based continuation and personalised recommendations; this does not preserve programmes indefinitely.
