The main live feed has a broadcast-area context
STV’s help ties the main STV and STV+1 live feeds to its broadcast area. On-demand programmes and themed channels available elsewhere in the UK have a different scope. A person outside the area should not assume that a missing main-channel stream means every STV Player feature has failed.
Choose the actual mode first. A boxset episode is a selected on-demand item, whereas a live feed is a running channel. Keep the current location and exact channel with the question when the geographic distinction is relevant.
Find the programme as well as the broadcaster
For catch-up, use the programme page and the intended episode. For a live event, inspect the actual live selection. A familiar STV programme name in search does not establish that every current live feed is available through the same route.
This also helps when a series has several seasons. The broadcaster’s wider catalogue and the item currently selected are different levels of information. Record the episode and access option rather than treating a general boxset banner as a complete availability guarantee.
Paid products have distinct benefits
STV publishes Player+ and Player+ with Premier Sports as different product choices. Read the actual plan name in the account before comparing an offer or diagnosing a missing sports benefit. A paid entertainment-related product should not automatically be treated as every possible add-on.
The service also publishes advertising exceptions, including live and selected contracted material. A paid account can therefore encounter a different interruption context on a live channel from an ordinary eligible on-demand episode.
Explain the specific difference you observed
If a benefit is absent, keep the subscription name and purchasing route with the enquiry. If a programme opens but fails, include the device, app version and actual error. If a main live feed is missing, identify the relevant area and channel.
Use STV’s official account and help routes for private details. Do not post payment information, passwords or verification codes. Separating the local feed, the chosen episode and the paid product makes the problem more precise than saying that all STV viewing is unavailable.

Does every UK viewer receive the same STV livestreams?
No. The main STV and STV+1 livestreams are limited to the broadcaster’s own area.
