The channel is not the hardware account
The Roku Channel is a streaming destination. A Roku account is an account relationship, and a Roku-branded player is hardware. Those identities interact but are not the same product. Creating an account or activating a device does not by itself purchase every programme or add-on shown in an interface.
Roku’s help says account creation and device activation are free. An unrelated page asking for an activation payment should not be confused with the genuine account process. Use the actual Roku route and identify what a later charge claims to purchase.
An installed app is not an all-content entitlement
Adding an app, renting or buying a programme and starting a paid subscription are separate actions. A device can be fully activated and still display an additional offer for a particular item. The title page and account product explain the difference.
Before paying, read the actual product and seller. Do not assume that a hardware purchase includes every service accessible through the player or that a free account is a receipt for a premium add-on.
Use the relevant device route for the region
Roku’s help lists availability by country and device route, including exceptions around Premium Subscriptions. A supported route for one product is not automatic proof for every regional add-on. Use the exact model and the current local listing.
For a useful enquiry, distinguish hardware activation, account recognition, the requested programme and actual video playback. Keep private account information out of public images. This is clearer than treating a Roku logo as one universal television package.
