Choose the WETA+ viewing mode
Decide whether you need the schedule or the work
WETA+ combines live feeds, locally curated on-demand viewing and additional Passport content. If you want whatever is airing now, use Live and choose the correct station. If you want the beginning of a specific programme, look for its offered on-demand edition instead of assuming that joining a live feed starts it from the beginning.
Write the station or programme title with the intended time. WETA PBS, WETA UK and WETA Metro have different editorial roles. A British programme appearing in a WETA UK schedule does not by itself establish that the same episode can be opened whenever you choose.
Apply the regional rule to the station stream
WETA’s FAQ says its five WETA station feeds can be streamed free within the DC area; elsewhere within the United States, those feeds require the Passport benefit. This is a specific statement about those station streams, not a worldwide availability promise or a rule for every additional feed shown in the app.
Before arranging a live session away from home, inspect the current offered stream and account state. A working free on-demand programme does not establish access to a geographically restricted station feed. Keep the location and selected station with the plan rather than treating all WETA+ playback as one access category.
Look for the available replay separately
These distinctions prevent an unavailable replay from becoming an unnecessary password-reset exercise. A live schedule entry and an on-demand video are separate publication decisions.

Use an existing benefit before making another gift
The WETA+ help directs existing eligible members to the PBS member-lookup route using their membership email if Passport has not been connected. Follow that route before donating again merely because a new device shows a member-content prompt. Keep your PBS/WETA account choice consistent across the setup.
Finish with one concrete item: the intended live station or a named available replay. Confirm its account and location conditions before the planned session.
