The invitation has specific prerequisites
Apple’s nearby iPhone or iPad keyboard feature requires the same Apple Account context and Wi-Fi and Bluetooth enabled on the mobile device, along with supported Continuity requirements. Proximity alone is not enough evidence that the invitation should appear.
Check the intended Apple TV and mobile device, especially in a household with several accounts or boxes. A notification for another room can make text seem to go missing.
Use a harmless text field first
Open an ordinary search field on Apple TV and inspect the invitation on the intended phone. Tap it and type a short non-sensitive term. Confirm that it appears in the correct TV field before using the route for anything private.
This test establishes the keyboard handoff without exposing passwords in a shared screen or support screenshot. Keep the physical remote available as a fallback.
Separate keyboard sharing from service login
Text entering successfully does not prove a player accepts the selected account format. It only establishes the input route. Follow the app’s documented sign-in procedure afterwards.
If the invitation remains absent, inspect feature requirements and notification state before purchasing a new remote. This guide reports Apple’s documented nearby-keyboard conditions and contains no account or device testing claim.
Questions answered
Is being near Apple TV enough?
No. Apple lists account, wireless and supported-feature requirements.
Does successful typing prove a service login is correct?
