Identify why the resource exists
A sparse navigation view is not necessarily a damaged full-motion encode. RFC 8216 defines I-frame playlists for trick-play tasks such as scrubbing. Read the master reference and the playlist's declaration before comparing it with an ordinary video rendition.
For an invented review folder containing main.m3u8 and scrub.m3u8, the filenames are only hints. Confirm the tags and actual referenced media. A working main presentation does not establish that the optional navigation path has been published correctly.
Give the release report two results
Record ordinary playback and trick-play publication separately. This lets a team repair navigation resources without claiming that the entire event recording is missing. It also prevents an optional navigation success from standing in for a full media review.
If the editorial cut changes, regenerate or recheck the navigation timeline with it. A renamed final video that retains an older scrubbing resource can look plausible while leading readers to the wrong passage. These are proposed acceptance checks, not observed results from a specific player.
Questions answered
Is an I-frame playlist just a lower-resolution full-motion rendition?
No. It has a different media structure and purpose; inspect its declaration.
Does a working main playlist prove scrubbing resources work?
No. Review their references, timing and decoding context separately.
