Treat the number as a position in a view
The IPTVnator remote’s feature documentation defines a number as the position in the active list, counted from one. It is not a provider’s printed EPG channel number. This makes the current source and category essential context for a direct-number command.
For an original comparison, imagine a full list where a news item is fifth and a favorites view where that same item is second. Entering five in the favorites view need not select the same item. Record the visible list before judging a number-pad result; the title alone does not establish its current position.
Check a disabled volume control separately
The developer limits remote volume to supported built-in M3U playback; external and embedded MPV and VLC retain their own volume controls, and portal contexts have narrower command support. A working channel command with disabled volume can therefore be consistent with the selected playback route.
Inspect the engine and current view before reconnecting the phone. If the required task is external-player volume, use that player’s documented control route. Replacing the playlist or changing the phone’s hardware volume does not establish control of an independent desktop player window.
Describe the actual mismatch
A useful report names the app version, source type, current group or collection, sidebar position, entered number and selected item. If the issue concerns volume, include the selected engine. This is enough to distinguish an unexpected active list from a failed command without publishing private source URLs.
The expected result is predictable navigation within the chosen live list. If the remote is being used from a movie detail page or another context without that list, first return to an applicable live view rather than treating the command as a universal application shortcut.
Questions answered
Why did number three select a different channel after I opened favorites?
The documented number selects a position in the active list. Compare the favorites order with the full source order.
Does greyed-out volume always mean the remote disconnected?
No. Check the player and view. The documented remote volume scope is narrower than its live-channel command scope.
