The sign-in window is time-limited
Roku says Hotel & Dorm Connect gives the user several minutes to finish authentication through a phone or computer. If that window expires, its documented response is Try again to restart the process. This timeout concerns the captive-network handoff.
It is separate from a viewing-app password, a programme entitlement and initial Roku activation. Resetting those unrelated accounts does not complete an expired network window.
Prepare before starting again
Keep the phone or computer ready with Wi-Fi and a browser, then start the Roku’s displayed process again. Follow the current on-screen steps for the accommodation’s real network. Avoid copying an old temporary address or prompt from the previous attempt.
Use legitimate network credentials supplied for your access and keep room details private. If the accommodation has its own connection restriction, ask its authorized support rather than trying to circumvent it.
Confirm the network milestone
After successful authentication, check that Roku shows the intended network and connected status. Then open the viewing app and test a short item. A connected network does not promise regional programme availability or sufficient sustained speed.
For help, report whether failure occurs before the phone handoff, during authentication or after connected status. This gives the next person a clear stage to investigate.
Questions answered
Does the timeout prove my programme password is wrong?
No. It is a separate network-authentication stage.
What is Roku’s documented retry action?
Choose Try again and complete the new on-screen handoff within its window.
