After Showmax: rebuild the viewing list around the actual new service

Use the old programme record as a starting point without assuming every title, profile or subscription moved intact.

Keep the service end separate from the programme name

DStv's published Showmax end date was 30 April 2026 at 23:59. An older Showmax review, app screenshot or programme recommendation should therefore be read as a legacy reference, not a current invitation to buy the same service. A title can continue elsewhere while the original platform ends. When returning to an unfinished series, begin with the work and episode you intended to watch rather than treating the old application or subscription label as the permanent home of that programme.

A transition page has a country context

DStv's Zambia transition information describes Showmax material moving to DStv Stream and explicitly says not every title moves because of licensing. It also says profiles and viewing history will not transfer. Those are useful cautions when rebuilding a personal list, but the country's commercial package information should retain its own scope. Do not copy a local price, trial or bundle description into a worldwide recommendation. Use the current DStv route for the actual country when asking about a new account or particular programme.

Rebuild a small list from memory or legitimate records

For an original recovery exercise, list the series, season and last completed episode you remember, then mark any uncertain positions clearly. A friend's episode number or an old article should not silently become your own viewing history. For films, record the title and release identity; for an ongoing series, include the season as well. This creates a useful personal starting point without claiming an automated export, a guaranteed data migration or access to an account's private history that has not actually been retrieved.

Check one programme at a time in the new route

Search the appropriate current catalogue for the exact work, then read its available season or episode range. A series name appearing in a result does not prove the continuation you need is there. If a title is absent, retain it as an unresolved item rather than replacing it with an unrelated show that shares a translated name. If it is available, note the current service and relevant access choice. The goal is a confirmed next viewing step, not a declaration that the old and new catalogues are identical.

Ask the account question separately

A replacement programme location does not itself settle a subscription, voucher, refund or account-transfer question. Use the actual provider and country-specific help with the relevant private purchase record. Do not send card numbers or account passwords in a public request. Keeping the commercial record separate from the film list makes both clearer: one concerns the agreement that applied to an old or new account, while the other concerns where and how a particular work can now be watched. Neither should be inferred solely from familiar Showmax artwork.

Questions answered

Does a Showmax title appearing on DStv Stream mean the whole old catalogue moved?

No. The cited Zambia transition page says some titles cannot move because of licensing.

Should I expect the old profiles and watch history to appear automatically?

The cited transition information says they do not transfer. Confirm the actual country and current account route.
