Prepare the account before scanning
Sony’s PlayStation support describes a QR-code step when setting up Sony Pictures Core on PS4. Begin from the installed console app and follow the code it displays. On the phone, check which PlayStation account is already signed in before continuing the link.
A shared phone can retain a different family member’s browser session. That is a practical reason to inspect the account identifier at the handoff, rather than assuming possession of the phone proves the intended identity. Keep the console screen visible so you can compare the flow you started with the page you are authorising.
Confirm the destination before buying
Once the app opens, distinguish signing in successfully from finding the film entitlement you expected. Sony places rented and purchased selections in My Library. Inspect that library before selecting another payment option for the same title.
Use your receipt to compare the film and purchasing account. If the receipt belongs to another account, stop and resolve that mismatch through official support. The aim is to connect the evidence, not to test whether a second purchase happens to make the film playable.
Keep Plus browsing separate
The included PlayStation Plus collection is another area of the service. Seeing a membership collection does not prove that a separately purchased film has appeared, and finding a paid title does not prove the membership itself is missing. Write down which of those outcomes you are trying to achieve.
If linking finishes but the expected order remains absent, record the console model, app sign-in identity, film title and exact message. A support request containing those details is more actionable than repeatedly scanning new codes without checking what changed. Avoid sharing the live QR screen or account credentials in public posts.
