Establish where the channel originates
The SS IPTV FAQ describes Broadcast as terrestrial, cable or satellite channels tuned on the television where the device exposes them. Its editor help says these channels are scanned automatically when that capability is available. This is a different source from an internet playlist entered as a URL.
Identify whether the desired item is already a channel in the television’s own tuner interface or arrives from a streaming service. A household can use both, but the input and maintenance tasks differ. Keep the physical tuner source and the player’s saved streaming sources separate in the setup notes.
Check the television before the editor
For a tuner item, first inspect whether the television itself has the expected tuned channel. If it is absent there, changing an SS IPTV playlist entry does not perform a manufacturer channel scan. Follow the television’s own documented tuning procedure for the relevant antenna, cable or satellite arrangement.
If the native channel is available, inspect whether SS IPTV on that exact model exposes Broadcast items. The developer makes this capability conditional on device support. Do not infer support from a screenshot of another television, and do not turn a missing capability into a reason to upload an unrelated channel list.
Arrange the available items rather than inventing a stream
The editor describes arranging scanned Broadcast entries, including presentation and standardized names. Use an existing recognized entry for a small organization change. Retain its original position or label and inspect the corresponding item on the television after saving.
For example, move a known local tuner channel into a more convenient position without changing its identity. Check that the expected channel remains selected afterward. This comparison concerns organization of an existing device channel; it does not create a network URL or establish permission to distribute that channel elsewhere.
Use the streaming route for a streaming source
If the intended item is supplied as an authorized internet playlist, return to the documented playlist route rather than trying to make Add Item appear in Broadcast. Keep the source title distinguishable from the television’s tuner list so a later user can tell which route they are opening.
A useful remaining-failure report names the television model, whether the item exists in the native tuner and whether the app exposes Broadcast entries. That is more actionable than saying the playlist is empty when the task actually concerns tuner integration.
Questions answered
Why can I not add an ordinary stream in the Broadcast tab?
That tab is documented for device-exposed tuned television channels. Use the player’s playlist route for an internet streaming source.
Does every supported SS IPTV television expose tuner channels?
The developer makes Broadcast access dependent on the device’s application capabilities. Confirm the exact model rather than assuming the same integration everywhere.
