Start with the seller on the receipt
Tastemade’s July 2026 help says hosted Tastemade+ subscriptions supply shows and documentaries within the selling platform, while direct Tastemade Cooking includes the direct website and app benefits. The hosted channel does not include the recipe benefits. That distinction can explain a locked recipe page even when your television programmes play normally.
Read the receipt and write down both names: Tastemade+ and the platform selling it, or the direct Tastemade Cooking membership. Do not treat every use of the old Plus name as the same product. A password reset cannot add a benefit that was not part of the purchase.
Find the dish before changing the account
Identify the show, episode and dish you want to cook. A programme may present several dishes, and a short clip may not contain a complete written method. Search the actual recipe destination rather than trying to extract shopping quantities from a fast-moving television demonstration.
The help describes a separate Cooking iOS app for recipe functions and a shows-and-documentaries app for viewing. Check the current official listing for your device. If you already hold a direct membership, use that direct account in the appropriate interface before assuming another purchase is needed.
Make the recipe usable in the kitchen
Read the complete ingredient list and method before shopping. Note quantities, equipment and any preparation that must happen earlier. Keep a simple shopping list on the device you will take with you; the episode itself is a poor substitute when you are comparing ingredients in a shop.
During cooking, use the written method as the working reference and replay a demonstration only when it answers a specific technique question. This separates inspiration from execution and reduces the need to search through a full programme while a pan is already heating.
Choose a membership on purpose
If the hosted video channel meets your viewing needs, decide separately whether direct recipe benefits are worth adding. If you hold both products, keep their renewal records clear. The useful outcome is knowing which product serves each task, not repeatedly purchasing a familiar logo in the hope that every surface will unlock.
Questions answered
Can a working hosted channel still leave recipes locked?
Yes. Tastemade’s help explicitly excludes recipe benefits from the hosted channel product.
Should I reinstall the television app to unlock recipes?
First verify the product and recipe interface. A working television app does not establish a direct Cooking membership.
