A later edit does not update the saved copy
The help article explicitly says changes made after another user saves the shared plan are not reflected in that user’s account. Treat the saved result as a snapshot. The owner’s current plan and the recipient’s saved plan can therefore diverge without either account being broken.
If you replace a dinner after sharing, communicate the actual change and identify the revised version. Do not simply say “check the plan” when the other person may be looking at an earlier saved copy. That wording leaves two people acting on different information.
Keep shopping tied to the agreed version
Before building a grocery list, confirm which version the household intends to use. Record a short date or revision note with it. This is an organisation method, not a feature that synchronises the accounts or automatically repairs their lists.
If you want to reuse the original plan later, keep its purpose clear as well. A shared copy can be useful precisely because it remains a record of that earlier selection. The important step is knowing whether the current task is preserving a plan or coordinating a newly changed one.
