Start with the required scope

For a single authorised broadcast, the checked Tvheadend guide documents recording the selected programme. A repeating requirement needs another decision: use available series-link information or a reviewed search-based rule.

Inspect the metadata behind the button

The guide describes Record series where the EPG supplies series-link data, with an Autorec alternative where that data is absent. These are different inputs. A title-based fallback should not be presented as an equivalent guarantee that every future edition will be identified.

For a search-derived rule, inspect channel and other criteria before confirmation, then review generated recordings. Keep a known near match that should be excluded. The goal is the intended future selection, not simply a rule that saved successfully.

Preserve a narrow correction route

If the rule is too broad, disable or adjust it while retaining its prior criteria. Do not cancel a one-off item and assume the underlying repeating policy has also changed. No recording rules were created or tested for this article; review actual future consequences on the installed server.
