Recognise an edit mismatch in a VLC narration review

Decide when a soundtrack difference is more than a constant playback offset.

A player organises the experience

Compare the source revisions

When separately attached narration fails to match, record the exact video edit and audio revision. The official VLC workflow supplies a way to audition another file; it does not establish that the pair was produced from the same timeline.

Check early, middle and late cues

Use three meaningful moments in your own media. A similar displacement throughout is different from a mismatch that begins after a scene is removed. If the difference changes abruptly, compare the edits before treating the problem as one fixed delay.

Preserve the original pair and keep the selected track identity in the note. A vaguely similar voice track can conceal that an old narration revision was chosen. No file pair was played or measured for this article; the cue method must be performed locally.

Return the issue to the right stage

If the editions differ, identify the required narration or revise the production source through an appropriate editing workflow. Do not label a temporary player adjustment an exported corrected soundtrack. Keep the cue evidence so the producer can see where the alignment diverges.

Questions answered

Can one constant offset repair a removed scene in only one file?

No. Compare the edit revisions and timeline structure.

Does a successful attachment prove matching editions?

No. It establishes a playback input, not its production relationship to the video.
