Identify the firmware family and sound route
Infomir’s Linux/WebKit embedded-portal audio controls apply to that documented MAG environment. They should not be copied automatically to an Android-based model. Write down whether sound travels through HDMI to TV, through an HDMI receiver or through optical output.
The intended decoder matters. A receiving device that cannot decode a compressed format may remain silent even though the picture is visible. Choose settings from the supported route rather than the most impressive format name.
Check HDMI versus DVI output
The documented Video settings include an HDMI/DVI choice. Infomir warns that DVI mode does not send audio on the HDMI output. For an HDMI-input television, inspect that choice before changing programme credentials.
Keep volume at a moderate level and confirm both box and TV controls. A silent path may become audible once its output mode is corrected. Check one known item before drawing a conclusion about the entire service.
Choose decoding deliberately
Infomir distinguishes optical Bitstream, which passes compressed audio to downstream equipment, from PCM, which sends decoded output. Check the receiving system’s documented capabilities before using either choice.
Keep HDMI Audio and optical settings in the correct layer. A picture on HDMI does not prove that an independently connected optical receiver is the selected listening route.
Understand restart behavior
The embedded-portal Initial volume setting defines the starting player volume after reboot. A level returning on restart can therefore be an intentional saved preference rather than evidence that everyday remote adjustments were ignored.
For help, supply the model, firmware family, output connection, HDMI/DVI mode and selected decoder route. This page explains Infomir’s controls and contains no hands-on audio-format compatibility test.
Questions answered
Can DVI mode explain picture with no HDMI sound?
Yes. Infomir explicitly warns that this mode suppresses HDMI audio.
Does Bitstream decode the sound in the box?
Infomir describes it as passing compressed audio for downstream decoding.
