A&E Crime Central: choose the series format before the episode

Distinguish Crime Central series perspectives and its separate bundle from an ordinary A&E channel reference.

Choose what you want the programme to follow

A&E Crime Central is an on-demand true-crime service. A&E’s introduction names several series with different perspectives: After the First 48 follows a case through investigation, trial and later developments; 60 Days In uses a participant-based jail format; Female Forces follows the professional and personal lives of particular police officers. Those descriptions provide a more useful starting point than whichever poster looks familiar.

Decide whether your interest is a case’s later account, continuing participants or a recurring cast. This is a choice of television format. It is not a guide to conducting an investigation or an assurance that one programme supplies a complete account of real events. Read the selected episode description for its actual subject.

Keep a follow-up and an earlier programme separate

If a title sounds like a continuation, retain its full name when searching. After the First 48 is the publisher’s named follow-up format; shortening a note to “First 48” can send another viewer to a different series or episode list. Record the title, season and episode together.

For two sessions, decide whether you want a linked story or two programmes on a theme. A shared subject does not establish an official episode pair. Use a connection stated in the descriptions; leave the order open when the publisher does not identify one.

Use the Apple TV Channels route if that is what you bought

The direct website also advertises a bundle with Lifetime Movie Club and HISTORY Vault. The service’s separate TV help explicitly distinguishes Apple TV Channels subscriptions: those viewers must use Channels within the Apple TV app and cannot use that subscription to sign in to the standalone Crime Central app.

Keep Apple TV Channels with the product name on a viewing plan. Opening a standalone Crime Central sign-in screen is a different route, even on an Apple TV device. Confirm the selected film or episode in the channel you actually purchased before considering another subscription.

Questions answered

Is After the First 48 another way to write The First 48?

Keep the full title. A&E describes After the First 48 as following cases into later stages.

Can an Apple TV Channels subscription sign in to the standalone Crime Central app?

The current official help says no. Use Crime Central under Channels in the Apple TV app.
