Choose the programme and viewing context
MĀORI+ is Whakaata Māori’s streaming platform for Māori stories, culture, entertainment, live channels and events. The official Android publisher listing describes on-demand viewing, My List, viewing progress across devices and dedicated whānau profiles. Use the actual programme page to choose the episode or live event you want.
A live channel and an on-demand programme are different viewing choices. Check the relevant event start time and programme presentation rather than assuming a saved show entry is a live-event reservation or a complete replay. If you are watching as a family, inspect the programme classification as well as the name or thumbnail.
Keep whānau profiles attached to the existing account
MĀORI+ help says every account includes a Primary Profile and a Tamariki Profile that cannot be deleted. Additional profiles can sit within the same account. Choose the intended profile before adding favourites or resuming a programme, so one person’s activity does not become confused with another’s progress.
The current sign-in help distinguishes linked methods using the same email from a different email that creates a separate account. If familiar profiles or My List seem missing, check the signed-in address and original method before rebuilding everything. Reset-password messages are not sent when that address has no MĀORI+ account.
Check native TV support before changing equipment
The current help lists Android TV and Google TV routes alongside mobile, browser, Chromecast and AirPlay viewing. It explicitly says the MĀORI+ Apple TV app is no longer supported and directs viewers to AirPlay or alternative viewing routes. An old installation on an Apple TV therefore should not be treated as a currently supported native app.
On supported Android TV or Google TV, open the official application and follow its on-screen QR-code or activation-code sign-in instructions. Create the account on the website or mobile app first if needed. Check the platform-specific requirements for the actual television or external player instead of assuming all smart TVs use the same operating system.
Treat subtitles and overseas availability as programme-specific
MĀORI+ help says subtitles are available only on selected content and are currently burnt into the programme. Where supplied this way, they appear within the video rather than as a separate optional caption track. Check the intended edition before a session if translated dialogue or accessibility support is essential.
The platform can be accessed outside New Zealand, but its help says programme availability varies by country because of rights. Test the exact programme in the actual viewing location. For a failure, provide the country, title, episode, device and account method so a territorial restriction can be separated from an outdated app or incorrect profile.
Questions answered
Is the native MĀORI+ Apple TV application still supported?
No. Current MĀORI+ help says it is no longer supported and points to AirPlay or other viewing routes.
Are subtitles selectable on every MĀORI+ programme?
No. Help describes subtitles on selected content, currently burnt into the video rather than supplied as a universal optional track.
