Sony LIV in India: Mobile Only, Premium and the anime add-on

A Mobile Only membership is a specific screen entitlement

Sony LIV’s India plan help distinguishes Mobile Only from LIV Premium. Its benefit explanation says Mobile Only applies to the Android and iOS applications and excludes other routes such as desktop, mobile browser, tablet, Chromecast and television. A paid account on a phone is therefore not proof that it should also open on a living-room screen.

Use the exact account offer and intended device before purchasing. This guide concerns the published India arrangement; an offer promoted for another market can have different terms. A service-wide statement about supported devices should be read together with the restrictions of the plan actually chosen.

Monthly, annual and separate content packs are different

The India comparison distinguishes Premium plans by features including simultaneous viewing, while the broader FAQ also explains a separate Crunchyroll Fan offer. That anime pack does not by itself grant access to LIV originals, films or sports. A shared checkout or app does not make all content packages interchangeable.

For a sports fixture, retain the competition and current event page rather than assuming an anime selection establishes sports access. For anime, check whether the chosen title belongs to that pack. Installing the separate Crunchyroll app should not be treated as an automatic result of a pack sold inside Sony LIV without its own confirmation.

Paid viewing can still include advertisements

Sony LIV has a dedicated explanation for advertisements shown to paid users, listing categories including sports, reality material and other television content. A Premium label should therefore not be rewritten as an unconditional promise that everything in the player is commercial-free.

Inspect the actual programme and plan wording when advertising affects your decision. A live feed and an independently selected original series can follow different ad arrangements. Record which type of video was playing before assuming that an advertisement means the account has become a free user.

Download the eligible episode rather than the whole promise

The download help directs a recognised subscriber to the selected movie or episode, its downward-arrow control and the quality choice. A title without that offered control should not be treated as a broken download merely because other programmes can be saved. Live sports access is not a universal offline-recording feature.

Before travelling, inspect the completed item in the supported app and its offered availability. Keep the actual membership and device route with a support request. Distinguish an unsupported Mobile Only screen, a separate content-pack lock, missing title eligibility and a download that starts but never completes.
