Télé-Québec: choose account features without expecting offline downloads

Télé-Québec’s help, updated on 26 October 2026, says viewers do not need an account to watch its content. An account adds features including continued viewing and favourites. Decide whether you need a single session or a way to return to the same programme later.

For a one-off film, account creation is therefore a separate choice from selecting the title. For a serial programme, continuity can be useful, particularly when another session follows on a different day. Keep the episode title as well as any saved progress so you can identify the intended place.

A favourite is not an offline copy

The broadcaster’s offline FAQ says downloads are not currently offered and that an internet connection is required for its films and programmes. Adding a favourite or leaving a page open does not change that condition.

If your planned session is on a train or somewhere without a dependable connection, make another legitimate viewing plan rather than assuming a download control will appear after registration. The account’s continuity features help you return to a stream; they do not store a film for offline use.

Check where the session will take place

The same dated help limits platform viewing to Canada. The page suggests official social channels for selected excerpts and updates outside the country; those are different resources from full programme playback.

For a shared recommendation, include the programme link and the fact that the intended viewing session is in Canada. A friend being able to open a film there does not verify access elsewhere. No account, application or playback was tested in this research, and no alternative access method is supplied.
