An optional account is different from a paid TV package
The CW’s current account help describes a free optional login for shared history and watchlists across supported devices. It also distinguishes the free app/site from a cable or live-TV-provider subscription. Creating a CW account is therefore an organisational choice, not a requirement to buy a television package from the app.
The help describes passwordless links as well as setting a password. If a password is not recognised, inspect how the actual account was created before opening another account. Keep the email route private and use the current official screen rather than treating every missing password as a failed paid membership.
A rolling episode window can explain a missing part
The missing-show help distinguishes series with a full current-season selection from titles retaining only the most recently aired episodes. It also explains that an episode first shown outside the United States need not appear before its CW broadcast. A complete series poster is not a guarantee of every season and episode.
Check the specific title’s offered list and actual U.S. airing before diagnosing a gap. Repeats can affect a rolling selection, so episode numbers alone may look out of sequence. A favourite or watch-history entry cannot preserve an episode after the available rights window ends.
Live CW Sports moved to a different streaming destination
The current sports help says live CW Sports streaming moved to the ESPN app beginning August 4, 2026, while the CW broadcast network continues to carry sport. It describes event-specific exceptions and later eligible free replays. A working CW entertainment episode is not proof that today’s live game belongs in that app.
Use the actual sport, event and current guidance before relying on an older how-to article. A broadcast local station, live ESPN stream and subsequent CW replay are different viewing forms. For live-stream authentication or playback, the CW help directs viewers to ESPN support rather than treating the issue as a CW episode fault.
Free episodes remain advertisement-supported
The service’s advertising help says full episodes include advertising as part of the free viewing arrangement. A free account does not change that into a universal ad-free membership. Keep an ordinary ad break separate from an error that occurs only when a break begins.
For assistance, provide the show, episode or sport, actual app and visible message. An optional-login question, a rolling episode leaving the selection and a live game moved to another destination need different next steps. Do not use a provider subscription cancellation to solve a free CW app question; the provider manages its own paid package.
