Decide whether random continuous playback fits
Kodi Party Mode maintains a rolling selection from its music library. It is suitable when you want continuing playback within an eligible pool, but it is a different task from presenting a fixed, approved running order. State which behaviour you need before editing the Party Mode rules.
Use music you may play in the intended setting and review any permissions separately from the software controls. A media player feature does not establish public-performance or distribution rights. For a private collection of your own recordings, identify which tracks belong in the pool and which works should be excluded for content, duration or audience reasons.
Check that the pool exists in the library
Party Mode is a library feature, so confirm the desired tracks are present there before adjusting its playlist. Verify that the metadata used for exclusion or selection is populated consistently. A rule cannot reliably distinguish categories that exist only in your memory or in a naming convention the database does not use.
Keep three intended eligible tracks and two excluded near matches as a review sample. Open Music > Playlists > Party mode playlist to edit the documented pool rules. Start the mode from the sideblade Party mode control rather than assuming an ordinary playlist becomes that pool. Preserve earlier rules before changes so a too-small selection can be broadened deliberately without losing the original policy.
Expect repetition and review controls
The official guide describes random replenishment and explains that a small library can reuse songs. A pool with only a few acceptable tracks is therefore not a promise of a long non-repeating session. Estimate the available running time from your actual eligible material and decide whether repetition is acceptable.
Review the available navigation controls on your installation. The documented mode has pause, stop and next but does not offer the ordinary previous-track route. If a host needs to move freely backward through a rehearsed sequence, a different playback arrangement may better fit that requirement. Do not solve a workflow mismatch by promising controls the mode does not document.
Keep an event-ready alternative
Before relying on the mode, inspect the eligible pool and rehearse starting and stopping locally. Check an intentionally excluded sample through the rule result where possible instead of waiting for random playback to prove it absent. A short random session that happens not to select a track is weak evidence of correct exclusion.
Save the accepted rule and note the library and Kodi version used. For a session with strict order, prepare an explicit sequence and test that separate route. The completed Party Mode task is an explainable eligible pool with understood repetition and controls; it does not guarantee exact ordering or legal suitability for every venue.
Questions answered
Does a short run without an unwanted song prove it was excluded?
No. Review the rule and pool membership; random selection may simply not have reached it.
Can Party Mode guarantee a long session without repeats from a tiny pool?
No. Kodi documents reuse in small libraries, so evaluate the eligible material and required duration.
