OTT Navigator first recording: choose storage before scheduling a show

Establish the documented recording prerequisites and inspect one completed sample before relying on an unattended job.

Identify the player before signing in

Choose an authorized short test

Before scheduling an important programme, use a short source you are permitted to record. Confirm ordinary playback and note the current app version. A source working live does not automatically establish that recording is allowed or that every stream format can be saved through the same mechanism.

Decide where the recording should be kept and how it will be checked. Keep valuable originals and existing recordings protected. The first test should answer a small operational question: can this installation create and replay a complete recording in the intended destination? It should not begin with several simultaneous unattended jobs.

Establish the documented prerequisites

OTT Navigator’s recording guide requires Premium and a selected destination under Settings, Recordings and Where to keep recordings. Until storage is chosen, the app hides recording actions. Inspect those conditions before assuming a missing Record option is an installation failure.

Use an actual writable destination and review the separate storage guidance for its behavior. Keep the free space and source connection allowance in mind. Selecting a destination and successfully writing a recording are distinct results, so retain any validation message instead of skipping directly to a long scheduled programme.

Record one current or scheduled item

The developer describes Record in the player or channel menu and programme scheduling through the guide. Choose the route that matches the test and read the duration or programme interval before starting. Keep only one sample active while verifying the workflow.

If using programme-based timing, inspect the source guide and any start-earlier or end-later choices. A schedule can differ from the actual broadcast. For an original example, a short sample around an ordinary programme transition can show whether the expected beginning and ending are included without consuming a full evening of storage.

Inspect the finished recording rather than its title alone

Open the recording through the documented Recordings view and check its status, beginning, middle and ending. Confirm the needed sound and picture. A listed title or REC marker proves a job exists, not that every part was captured.

Keep the test’s source, destination, duration and final state in the device notes. If the result is incomplete, inspect the recording details and the documented missed-recording checks before scaling up. The expected outcome is a complete playable sample within the actual permissions and hardware constraints, not a promise that every broadcast will be captured unattended.

Questions answered

Why might recording controls be missing?

Check active Premium and the selected recording destination. The developer says no recording actions appear until storage is chosen.

Does a REC marker prove the final file is complete?

No. Inspect the finished state and play representative passages, including the ending, before relying on the workflow.
