Inventory the streams already in use
A recording consumes source access while it runs. Before opening another channel, list the active recording, current playback and any other device using the same account. Keep the source’s actual simultaneous-connection policy at hand. The number of player windows and devices installed is not itself that allowance.
Use a hypothetical one-stream source as a planning example: recording one channel can occupy the available connection before another channel is opened. This example explains the accounting; it does not describe IPTV Europe’s plan or promise any particular entitlement. Obtain the real allowance from the source owner.
Use the documented recorded-channel behavior
OTT Navigator’s recording-connection guide says it can play the channel being recorded from the recording rather than opening a second stream. It treats opening another channel from the same provider differently when all connections are occupied. Read the prompt and preserve the recording before choosing an action.
Decide whether the immediate priority is finishing the recording or switching to another programme. An action that stops the recording is a real change, even if it makes the new channel play. Check the wording before confirming rather than repeatedly selecting the most permissive option.
Keep configured limits aligned with the actual plan
The developer describes reading connection limits where supplied and using a configured maximum when appropriate. Enter only the allowance that actually belongs to the source. Changing that number in the player does not force a remote server to accept an additional stream.
If the application reports a refusal even though its own screen looks idle, check other authorized devices and players using that account. A stream started elsewhere may still matter. Keep each provider’s accounting separate when several sources are configured; one source’s unused allowance is not a general credit that can be assigned to another.
Verify the intended household workflow
For a controlled test, record one short permitted programme and view that same recorded-channel route. Inspect whether playback and recording both remain healthy, then stop the sample normally and verify the output. Test another simultaneous channel only within the real allowance.
Retain the account policy, active streams and chosen action in private setup notes. The expected outcome is a predictable viewing-and-recording arrangement within the permitted stream budget. It does not create extra provider connections or guarantee that a third-party source will keep a refused account active.
Questions answered
Can I enlarge the plan by entering a bigger maximum in the player?
No. The remote source controls its allowance. Keep the application’s configured number aligned with the real plan.
Why can another device affect a recording on this box?
The same source account may already be carrying streams elsewhere. Count authorized active use across devices, not just the current player screen.
