Competition identity

Establish which league the listing describes
Concacaf is the regional football confederation; its name alone does not identify one competition. In the 2026/27 men’s Nations League, League A, League B and League C have separate structures. A programme listing that omits the league leaves out a detail that changes what the match can decide.
Start a viewing note with the competition, edition, league and stage. For example, “2026/27 Nations League, League B, group stage” is more useful than “Concacaf live”. That description also avoids confusing a national-team match with a club competition carrying the same organizer’s identity.
League A is not a complete six-team round robin
Concacaf’s June 2026 explanation puts twelve League A teams into two six-team groups, with each team playing four group matches. The top two from each group join four directly entered teams in the quarterfinals. Those quarterfinals are home-and-away ties whose aggregate winners progress to the League A Finals.
The practical consequence is that a group contains more opponents than each team actually faces. Do not reconstruct a missing fixture by assuming that every pair must meet. A team appearing in the quarterfinals without a group-stage result is not automatically a missing-data error: direct entry is part of this edition’s format.
A league title and promotion answer different questions
The official explanation gives League B four groups of four, with six matches per team and group winners moving to its own championship. League C has three groups of three; group winners and the best second-place finisher progress to its championship. These are additional titles rather than extra rounds of the League A title bracket.
Promotion is another outcome to read alongside the title route. Concacaf identifies League B group winners for promotion to A, and the League C group winners plus best second-place team for promotion to B. Keep a note of the relevant group-table result before treating a later championship score as the promotion decision.
Build a viewing list that survives the change of stage
Use separate entries for the first and second legs of a League A quarterfinal. After the first leg, record the match result in one column and the current aggregate in another. After the second, update both before moving the winner into your Finals list. This is a suggested tracking method, not a prediction of results.
For a hypothetical two-leg tie, label the rows “first leg” and “second leg” before writing any numbers. If your programme guide offers a replay with only a team name, compare the date and stage against the organizer’s match page. That small check prevents watching the wrong leg and mistaking its ending for the outcome of the whole tie.
The June announcement describes an edition extending across 2026 and March 2027. Use the current match page for the final kickoff and your own location’s dated clock conversion. A season label is useful context; it is not a substitute for the actual match date.
